Organising large groups to go away for a family celebration or a long party weekend, is not easy – everyone’s schedule is important and short stay accommodation options are ideal when trying to match a big group of people’s diaries!
A week - or two away is a real luxury and often planned well in advance during school holidays if you have children or during school term if you don't!
Short holiday breaks in large vacation houses are available throughout the UK and these mini-breaks often take you ‘off-grid’ and leave you feeling refreshed, especially if you are with a group of friends - 3 days is just perfect.
It is an idea to consider your travel arrangements before booking the holiday home - as you may require the convenience of an airport or railway station close by?
A short getaway could be ruined by a very long drive, we recommend going for short travelling times to maximise a mid-week your holiday experience.
A Short Break -can possibly start on any day of the week - we recommend that you use +/- in the search to see the best variety of what is available for you. Mini breaks are available year round in most cottages - certainly for last minute bookings, some properties do not allow short breaks in high season.
Short breaks can be 2, 3, 4, 5 nights or 6 nights with a pro-rata % saving on a week’s rental price - see individual properties prices. A 3 night minimum is quite common with many rental properties.
Few properties will accept a very short break at high season, you may find that there is a minimum number of nights or bed occupancy restrictions. Hen party weekends sometime require special permission from the owners.
It is not always possible to take a week holiday - but many holiday homes allow for short periods of rentals. Mid-week breaks Sunday - Thursday or long weekend rentals Friday - Monday are popular out of peak season - short cottage breaks are usually 2, 3 or 4 Nights. Most holiday cottages will have a strict weekly rental regime during the busy summer months and holiday cottages will be weekly rentals. The change-over day may vary.
Short breaks are commonly associated with city breaks in hotels or bed and breakfasts, but holiday houses offer exceptional value for money - for larger groups they can be exceptionally cheap per person per night, especially if last minute discounts have been applied!

Excellent road links allow for quick getaways at weekends and the rail network in UK is excellent, parking is generally plentiful at holiday houses and arriving by car allows for flexible arrival and departure. Key safes are used by some owners to especially accommodate arrival times.
